Our story

From a trip around the world to a workbench in New Jersey

In 2015, our founder Miki set off on a trip around the world looking for inspiration — and came home with a habit she couldn't shake: taking flat paper and turning it into something that moves. A year later, MoonionCrafts (then HappyPapercraftGifts) opened its doors, cutting and folding one-of-a-kind 3D pop-up cards by hand.

Nine years, thousands of orders, and a Star Seller badge later, the process hasn't changed much. Every card is still scored, cut and glued one at a time on a small workbench in Englishtown, New Jersey — not printed, not mass-produced.

The name is a nod to the craft itself: like the moon, paper folds through phases before it becomes whole; like an onion, every card is built in layers, each one hidden until the page opens.

“My shop is built on a foundation of customer obsession — every card is crafted with love and precision, and I want you to feel that the moment you open the envelope.”
— Miki, Founder
